Musa Reminds UMNO Leaders To Be Humble, Not Arrogant
KOTA KINABALU, May 31 (Bernama) - Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman reminded UMNO leaders at all levels to avoid being over-bearing and arrogant because it is not the practice or reflection of the party.
Musa who is also Sabah UMNO liaison chief also warned party leaders to not feel 'big' when they are appointed as a leader or to any post in the party and the government.
He said that when people chose them as leaders, the position should not be regarded as a privilege but a mandate given to them to serve the people.
"Never ever become proud, arrogant and talk rudely to anyone. We as leaders must be polite. We must respect one another. This is our way, this is UMNO's way.
"We do not want to be seen as arrogant and over-bearing leaders and talk as we wished. It is not our way. Our way is a civilised way... not only do we respect one another but also the people," he said.
Musa said this in his speech at the UMNO Zone 2 Breaking of Fast in Sepanggar tonight where Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin, Karambunai State assemblywoman Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid; Acting Sepanggar UMNO division chief Datuk Yakub Khan and state cabinet members were present.
