Call To UMNO Leaders, Members To Emphasise People's Well-being At DDC
KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- UMNO leaders and members have been urged to give emphasis to proposing of motions concerning the interests, needs and the well-being of the people at the party's Division Delegates Conferences (DDC).
Its Constitution and Legal Bureau secretary, Datuk Rosnah Abd Rashid Shirlin said emphasis on these aspects would not only determine the direction of this year's UMNO General Assembly but would also help to set the party's strategy and preparation to face of the 14th General Election.
She said that as of Oct 26, 2016, UMNO headquarters had received 681 motions from its 191 divisions nationwide, comprising 510 motions for reference and 171 motions that did not go for debate.
"The 510 motions received for reference include 108 concerning politics, 29 (economy), 62 (religious), 83 (social), 98 (education), 10 (constitutional amendments) and 120 other motions on various issues.
"The secretariat submitted all the motions to the relevant ministries and agencies for feedback," she said in a statement today.
She added that feedback from ministries and relevant agencies had also been obtained and reviewed before the motions were submitted to UMNO divisions on July 3, prior to the party's Division Delegates Conferences that are to be held nationwide from July 7 to Aug 26.
