Terengganu Geared Up For UMNO Divisional Meetings
KUALA NERUS, July 11 (Bernama) ? The respective UMNO members in Terengganu are all geared up to attend the divisional meetings to be held from July 14 to Aug 25.
Menteri Besar and State UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said there were no internal problems or issues.
"We concluded our branch meetings. We are happy that 98 per cent of the branches held their meetings. Only a few branches were unable to hold their meetings because some Puteri members progressed to become Wanita members, causing an insufficient number of members at the branches," he said.
Speaking to reporters at the Aidilfitri ?open house' of the Terengganu Department of Tourism, he said the delegates were enthusiastic all the same despite there being no elections.
Ahmad Razif said there was extraordinary support for the government, and that everyone was ready for the general election.
On another matter, Ahmad Razif said that should there be encroachment in forest areas and evidence of the Orang Asli having been influenced, police reports could be made for legal action to be taken.
"We will let the law take its course. We have taken tough action and made many arrests.
"In this matter, we will it to the Forestry Department and the police to take action regardless of who the offender is," he said.
