Opposition Trying To Influence BN Supporters With Untruths
ARAU, July 22 (Bernama) -- The opposition has sought to influence Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters, especially those from UMNO, that state seats belong to the BN while parliamentary seats should be handed over to the former.
Perlis UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim said the issue was no longer a secret as it had been widely spread, especially among UMNO members.
"They (the opposition) also uploaded pictures of UMNO leaders in social media allegedly supporting the pact. That is not correct.
"This issue is deliberately played up to weaken the BN so that they (the opposition) can capture Putrajaya. UMNO members should be aware of this game and they should just vote for BN in the coming 14th General Election (GE14)," he said.
Shahidan, who is also minister in the Prime Minister's Department was speaking to reporters after officiating the Arau UMNO Division's Wanita delegates meeting at the Kolej Matrikulasi Perlis hall here today.
