Kedah UMNO Urged To Mobilise JR Plus To Convince People
ALOR SETAR, July 28 (Bernama) -- All UMNO machinery are urged to mobilise the Jalinan Rakyat (JR) Plus in an effort to convince the people of Kedah that the party can bring benefits to them.
Kedah UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said JR Plus was one of the party's initiatives to strengthen the Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery before the 14th General Elections (GE14).
"All UMNO machinery including of the BN component parties namely MIC, MCA, and Gerakan, should work hard to reach voters in their respective constituencies to gain people's confidence in the party because we are faced with great challenges compared to the previous elections.
"We have to tell the people what will happen to the state if we are to lose in the election. We must also convince the people that this party is capable of bringing good results despite the various allegations by other parties,"he said at the opening of the Alor Setar UMNO Division Wanita Delegates Conference here, today.
On April 14, the Prime Minister, who is also BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak launched Jalinan Rakyat (JR) Plus that will harness the election machinery of UMNO Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings as well as those of the BN components and their wings to face the upcoming GE14.
Ahmad Bashah, who is also Kedah Menteri Besar, said continuous efforts should always be carried out to convey information to the people, including the efforts made by the BN in looking after the welfare of the people and to curb the actions of the opposition who had always tried to take advantage.
