Shahrizat Reminds Umno Members To Be Ready To Face GE Challenges
KOTA TINGGI, Aug 5 (Bernama) --UMNO members should be prepared to face challenges posed by the opposition in the coming 14th General Election, said Wanita UMNO head Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
She said UMNO members must be logical and rational in countering the lies of the opposition and not believe or exaggerate them.
She said the momentum shown by the Barisan Nasional in the preparations for the election at the topmost, wing and division levels had frightened the opposition.
"That is why they (the opposition) are looking for various avenues (to attack UMNO) . We as UMNO members should not be rattled. Our unity is a strong wall, the most important to take the party to victory because UMNO's strength is our unity, our service to the public, the purity of our journey which frightens the opposition," she said.
Shahrizat was speaking to reporters after opening the Tenggara Division UMNO Delegates' Conference in Kota Tinngi here today.
She added that in comparison, the opposition parties were in a state of chaos.
