GE 14: Terengganu UMNO Intends To Field Women Candidates
KUALA BERANG, Aug 5 (Bernama) --Terengganu UMNO intends to have women candidates for the 14th General Election.
Its chief Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, who is also Terengganu Menteri Besar, said "the incessant calls for women candidates had been heard loud and clear."
"I have no problems about having women candidates. We will suggest some names and the rest we leave it to UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to decide on the matter," he said when opening Hulu Terengganu Wanita UMNO delegates conference here today.
Also present was Terengganu UMNO deputy chief Datuk Jailani Johari, who is also Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister and MP for Hulu Terengganu.
Terengganu UMNO did not field any women candidates in the last general election.
