No More PKR-PAS Talks On Electoral Seats In Selangor - Azmin

SHAH ALAM, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- PKR will no longer engage in discussions with PAS on the allocation of seats in Selangor in the next general election, said PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

This is in keeping with the decision of the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council that dismissed any form of collaboration with PAS at the 14th general election, he said.

"PKR will no longer officially have any collaboration with PAS. Instead, it will focus on drawing up a strategy to face three-cornered contests in GE14. We accept that decision and will adhere to it," Mohamed Azmin, who is the Selangor menteri besar, said to reporters.

Asked about his absence at the meetings of the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council and PKR Political Bureau when PKR-PAS collaboration was discussed, he said he had other matters to attend to then.

Mohamed Azmin had said recently that he was prepared to discuss with PAS the allocation of seats in Selangor for GE14, but this did not go down well with several other PKR leaders, among them vice-president Rafizi Ramli who was opposed to the idea because he said it could confuse supporters.

Last May, the PAS Ulama Council decided to terminate the 'tahaluf siyasi' or political cooperation with PKR due to disappointment over several PKR actions that it claimed had marginalised PAS.
