Refrain From Backstabbing Call To UMNO Members
TAWAU, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- A Sabah UMNO leader has reminded party members against backstabbing fellow members merely because they want to be nominated as candidates for the next general election.
Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh, chief of the Kalabakan UMNO Division and MP for Kalabakan, said members who aspired to be candidates should work hard and go down to the ground to meet the people instead of spreading slander about fellow party members.
"Working hard and endearing themselves to the people are among the criteria by which candidates are judged by the party leaders such as UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Chief Datuk Seri Musa Aman, not intimidating and tarnishing the image of others,"he said in a statement.
Abdul Ghapur also expressed disappointment over the action of a villager of Kampung Mentadak Baru in Pulau Sebatik who erected a board bearing all sorts of negative allegations against Sebatik state assemblyman Datuk Abdul Muis Picho.
He said the allegations were baseless and motivated by a personal agenda.
