Solidarity In Sabah BN Should Be Strengthened - Musa

KOTA KINABALU, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- The unity and solidarity in Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) must continue to be boosted to ensure the party's strength and stability in providing the best services to the people, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

Musa, who is also Sabah BN Liaison chief, said although the state BN component parties had different backgrounds, all these parties shared the same objective and goal of proving it could uphold the trust and responsibilities given by the people as best as possible.

"The different approaches used in carrying out the responsibilities are no obstacle to our cooperation to bring development and progress to the people and state.

"BN's track record and ability to lead and bring development in the state clearly proves how we appreciate people's trust and confidence. Among the key basis that has helped strengthen the Sabah BN government is loyalty to the coalition's concept of leadership and to the leaders of the party and government."

Musa said this in his speech that was read out by state Minister with Special Functions Datuk Teo Chee Kang at the opening of the 19th Sabah MIC Convention, here, today.

Musa said the Sabah MIC Convention with the theme, 'Spurring Transformation, Fulfilling Aspirations', could be a platform for empowering and strengthening the party's struggles in the state.

Meanwhile, Sabah MIC chairman Datuk V. Jothiajaan told reporters that the state MIC at the divisional and branch levels would continue to give full support and cooperation to all the other state BN component parties to achieve victory in the coming general election.

There are about 3,600 Indian voters in Sabah, while the state MIC has 30 branches with over 2,000 members.

Jothiajaan said the party was now working at increasing the number of branches and members in certain areas including Sepanggar and Putatan.
