Selangor Folks Lament Over Opposition Reps' Failure To Look After Constituencies
SABAK BERNAM, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The issue of cleanliness, health, development, housing, unemployment and high land and assessment tax rates, are among the main complaints of the people of Selangor now, especially in constituencies won by Pakatan Rakyat representatives in the 13th General Election (GE13).
Wanita Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the findings were obtained by a census conducted by Selangor Wanita BN and Selangor Wanita UMNO since GE13.
"This is in contrast to the federal government and UMNO leaders who continue to help the people in Selangor. The opposition is simply good at talking on social media, but the truth is their elected representatives do not care about their respective constituencies," she said.
Shahrizat said this at a press conference after attending the Kembara Ibu Terbaik Bangsa GE14 (KITA-14) organised by Wanita UMNO of Tanjong Karang, Sungai Besar and Sabak Bernam divisions here today.
The GE13 results saw out of the 56 state seats in Selangor, DAP won 14 seats, Parti Keadilan Rakyat and PAS won 13 seats respectively, BN (12) and Parti Amanah Negara and Bebas won two seats respectively.
Shahrizat, who is also Wanita UMNO chief said she wass confident that based on the results of the census, BN has a great chance to win back Selangor.
She said Wanita UMNO would also be fielding more candidates to contest in the GE14 in Selangor.
Currently, there are two Wanita UMNO representatives in the state namely Hulu Bernam assemblyman Datuk Rosni Sohar and Kota Damansara assemblyman Datuk Halimaton Saadiah Bohan.
