Sabah UMNO Unpertubed About Opposition Opening Branches In BN Strongholds

SEMPORNA, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- Sabah UMNO does not care about the opposition party's approach to winning voters in the state including opening branches in the Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold, said Sabah UMNO deputy information chief Datuk Ramlee Marahaban.

Ramlee, who is also Sabah's Assistant Finance Minister, said the opposition's approach was welcomed as UMNO and Sabah BN were undaunted and ready to face the 14th general election (GE14).

"I challenge them to open branches or field candidates in any area, because we (BN) are well prepared," he said when met by reporters after checking the eroded road condition at Kampung Bubul Lama here, today.

Ramlee said this when commenting on the statement by DAP advisor, Lim Kit Siang that DAP would open branches in UMNO and BN strongholds, including in Sabah UMNO liaison chief Tan Sri Musa Aman's area in Libaran.

Meanwhile, Ramlee said that more members of the opposition would follow in the footsteps of Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib to rejoin UMNO.

Earlier in his survey, he said the road which was one of the routes used by villagers, including for the burial ground would be repaired, adding that the repair works would benefit more than 5,000 people in the surrounding area.
