Christopher Mandut Appointed PBS Youth Acting Chief
KOTA KINABALU, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Youth Deputy Chief, Christopher Mandut has been appointed as the wing's acting chief, effective today.
PBS Secretary-General Datuk Johnny Mositun said Christopher's appointment as the acting chief was decided by PBS's top leadership with the support of the wing's executive committee (exco).
He said the move (appointment of Christopher as the wing's acting chief) was taken following Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin, the wing's former chief and head of PBS' Liawan division, leaving PBS on Sept 22.
"As everyone knows, several of the Youth wing exco members joined Jake in leaving PBS and we are leaving it to its existing members to decide on filling the vacancies at their next meeting,"he told reporters here today.
On the leadership of the Liawan division, Johnny said that contrary to rumours, the division had not been dissolved and that he would be heading a team to streamline the leadership structure there based on the existing members.
He added that 56 out PBS's 61 divisions had already had held their annual general meetings, which showed that the party was still very strong.
