ECERDC To Work Closely With, Kelantan Govt To Launch High-impact Projects
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) will continue to work closely with the Kelantan government to implement various high- impact projects and human capital development programmes for the state.
In a statement today, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, said this was part of the federal government's strategy to attract more private investments and empower the rakyat.
He said since the establishment of East Coast Economic Region (ECER) in 2007 until Aug 31, 2017, Kelantan has attracted RM12.7 billion in private investments and creating over 14,000 jobs.
"The investment growth in Kelantan is expected to be accelerated in tandem with the implementation of high-impact game-changers such as the East Coast Rail Line,? he said at the launch of the two-day 'Kelantan Job and Entrepreneurial Fair 2017' recently.
The fair, organised by ECERDC, aimed to enable job-seekers to seize the 3,300 jobs offered by 40 participating local and foreign investors from multiple sectors, including manufacturing, real estate and logistics, as well as various jobs apart from entrepreneurial opportunities at the ECER.
ECERDC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Jebasingam Issace John, said the jobs offered at the fair proved that transformation in the ECER, including Kelantan, was truly in motion.
"The region is becoming increasingly dynamic and competitive, with more private investors offering jobs across diverse sectors for the rakyat in Kelantan."
"This is certainly in line with the government's efforts to uplift the livelihood of the people and create an inclusive and sustainable socio-economy in the ECER," he said.
