FT BN Targets Four More Parliamentary Seats

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Barisan Nasional (BN) targets to win four more parliamentary seats at the 14th general election, says its chairman Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

He said this would make the total number of parliamentary seats BN wanted to win at eight of the 13 parliamentary seats in the Federal Territories.

Currently, BN held the Titiwangsa and Setiawangsa in the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory and one each in Putrajaya and Labuan.

"I won't tell the places where we have the potential to win as it is our strategy but I have told every division chief to go down to the field (and work)," he told reporters after launching a Federal Territories level 'Jalinan Rakyat Plus 2.0' (JR Plus) programme here, today.

Other than Titiwangsa and Setiawangsa, nine more parliamentary seats in Kuala Lumpur are Kepong, Batu, Wangsa Maju, Segambut, Bukit Bintang, Lembah Pantai, Seputeh, Cheras and Bandar Tun Razak.

On JR Plus, Tengku Adnan said the programme was a BN initiative to mobilise the machinery of component parties to go down to the field to approach and find out the problems of the people.

"This programme will mould a party machinery work system into one which is more orderly and clear in achieving our target to emerge triumphant," he said.

Also present were UMNO Wanita chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and MyPPP chairman Tan Sri M. Kayveas.
