Yeoh Cut Short Sitting After Teng's 'Bodoh' Remark

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- Selangor State Assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan has to cut short the morning sitting after a State Executive Councillor (Exco member) created an uproar with his 'bodoh' (stupid) remark.

The remark by State Investment, Industry, Trade and Transportation Committee chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim drew the ire of Datuk Halimaton Saadiah Bohan (BN-Kota Damansara) who was stressing a point during debate on the Selangor Budget 2018, here today.

Halimaton Saadiah had the support of assemblymen Datuk Sulaiman Abdul Razak (BN-Permatang) and Datuk Abdul Shukor Idrus (BN-Kuang), who urged Teng to withdraw the disrespectful remark.

Teng refused to withdraw the remark and said that he was not aiming at anybody in particular and this prompted Abdul Shukor to cynically say if that was the case, then anybody can use the remark.

This is the second time Teng used the taboo remark when a BN assemblyman was speaking in the state assembly after the sitting in November last year.
