MIC Leaders Not Named As Candidates Must Not Sabotage The Party - Dr Subramaniam
IPOH, Nov 15 ( Bernama) -- MIC leaders who are not selected as candidates for the 14th General Election (GE14) should support those who have been identified and not sabotage the party or the candidate said MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
Those who are not in the list of candidates should continue to support and work closely with the candidate in their respective areas to ensure victory for the party and Barisan Nasional (BN) during the GE14.
"Every member must work hard to form a strong alliance instead of sabotaging the party or the candidates who have been identified. Party members must remain loyal and not become enemies from within.
"When BN loses, MIC will also be at a loss and the Indian community will become the victims because there will be no representation for Indians in the Federal government and states. They must put aside self interest for the sake of the party and BN," he said.
Subramaniam who is also the Health Minister said issued the reminder to MIC members during his speech at the Deepavali Open House organised by the Perak MIC Liaison and officated by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
The Deepavali Open House was attended by about 3,000 people.
Subramaniam said in the GE14, the MIC has targetted to win two Parliamentary seats and two state assembly seats in Perak.
