Wanita UMNO Sayang Squad Gives Aid To Penang Flood Victims
TASEK GELUGOR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The Wanita UMNO Sayang Squad today distributed aid to 350 flood victims in Tasek Gelugor parlimentary constituency.
Wanita UMNO assistant secretary Datuk Rosni Sohar said the aid comprised 3,000 women's undergarments, 4,000 women's prayer garments, 4,000 prayer mats and 3,000 sarongs.
"What we give today is just part of the federal government's concern and social responsibility in helping the flood victims," she told reporters after presenting the aid here today.
Rosni said 1,000 members of the squad had also been deployed to assist flood victims in the state, including in the worst affected areas namely in Tasek Gelugor, Permatang Pauh, Jelutong and Balik Pulau.
