Youth And Wanita Wings Will Ensure Survival Of PBS - Ongkili
KOTA KINABALU, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) acting president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said the party's Youth and Wanita wings were the key and important movers to ensure the survival of the party.
Ongkili, who is also Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister, said without the two wings, the party would be dysfunctional.
"The strength of a party is the solidarity of its members and most importantly, is the unity of the Youth and Wanita wings.
"Without the two wings, PBS is like a bird that cannot fly. The two wings are very important to ensure the party's stability and capability to stay relevant," he said when officiating the PBS Youth and Wanita conference in conjunction with the 32nd PBS annual congress here today.
Ongkili said in view of the coming 14th general election, all party members needed to step up efforts to ensure victory for Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates contesting in their respective constituencies.
"Our success has been due to the cooperation of our counterparts from BN component parties who are also helping to realise our dreams and struggles.
"Therefore, we need to work with them to ensure that PBS will win all seats contested," he added.
He also reminded that all divisions and branches of PBS, the oldest political party in Sabah, to further strengthen its presence by ensuring that their respective constituencies as well as party machinery continuously active and was able to counter the challenges they face.
