UMNO Youth 'Free Petrol Top-Up' Programme Gains Popularity In Labuan
LABUAN, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- The Labuan UMNO Youth's monthly Free Petrol Top-Up programme for 150cc motorcycles and below continues to gain popularity with more than 800 riders flocked to the Saguking Petronas petrol kiosk to top-up their tanks here on Sunday.
Federal Territories UMNO Youth vice chief Datuk Mohd Rafi Alli Hassan said programme, which is one of UMNO Youth's corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, was introduced in 2016 and would benefit at least 80,000 motorcycles owner in three federal territories of Labuan, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur by December this year.
The programme yesterday was also attended by Titiwangsa UMNO Youth treasurer Datuk Nizar Datuk Seri Najib, Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli, PBS Labuan chief Datuk Peter Mak and Labuan UMNO vice-head Datuk Khalid Ghani.
"We first introduced the programme in Labuan with the aim to help jobless youths here. After seeing the overwhelming response with more than 1,000 riders benefited from the programme each month, we expanded it to Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur late last year and to other parliament constituencies in KL early this year," he told Bernama today.
Mohd Rafi, who is also political secretary to the Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, said they would continue improving the programme to make it more interesting and more helpful, with lucky draws that offers motorcycles accessories such as safety helmet.
