Support From Malaysians Abroad Helps Strengthen UMNO, BN - Hishammuddin

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said said UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) would not progress and be strong without the support of all quarters, including Malaysians who are living abroad.

He said the country's political landscape was becoming more challenging and it required the cooperation of all quarters in realising the country's development agenda, such as the 2050 National Transformation (TN50).

Hishammuddin, who is Defence Minister, said this after a meeting with the UMNO Overseas Club members in conjunction with the 2017 UMNO General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.

He said whatever programmes carried out by UMNO and BN were for the benefit of all quarters, including those abroad, regardless of their political affiliation and background.

Commenting on the motions that were debated during the assembly, Hishammuddin said, they were all drawn to preparations for the 14th general election (GE14).

"They also touched on economy, religion and education, which i think can be included in the election manifesto and TN50," he said.
