Heed Najib's Call To Come Out Of Comfort Zone - Sabah UMNO

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- UMNO members should heed party president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's call to come out of their comfort zone and be fully prepared in facing the upcoming 14th general election (GE14).

Sabah Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Zakaria Edris said this was important for UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) to achieve absolute victory and remain in power.

"We cannot forever be in our comfort zone, we need to rise for the continuity of our party's struggle so that UMNO will remain relevant," he said when commenting on the party president's policy speech at the opening of the UMNO General Assembly 2017, here, today.

Zakaria said party members should come out of the comfort zone and do something to help the party counter the relentless attacks from the opposition, and detractors, for instance.

He said party members at all levels also needed to be open-minded in facing global challenges, which was in line with the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) agenda.

Zakaria who is also the assemblyman for Gum-Gum, also expressed appreciation for the party's top leaders' acknowledgement of Sabah UMNO's strength, being the state with the biggest number of UMNO members.

He said this could contribute to BN obtaining two-thirds majority in GE14, adding that as UMNO and BN's stronghold, Sabah would be able to maintain the momentum of support, as shown in the previous elections.

Zakaria said Chief Minister and state liaison chief Tan Sri Musa Aman had placed Sabah in the best position, enabling the state to overcome various challenges and obstacles.

He also regards the Najib-Zahid team as the best combination to take UMNO and BN to greater heights of excellence.
