President's Policy Speech Gives Clear Signal For Improvement Of Party Strategy 
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also UMNO president, has given a clear signal to UMNO members to strengthen the party's strategy to ensure Barisan Nasional's win in the 14th general election (GE14).
UMNO Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also Johor Menteri Besar, said with the prime minister having said that GE14 would be the 'mother of all elections', it meant that all had to work hard.
"We have no other choice but to win," he said when commenting on the party president's policy speech at the opening of the UMNO General Assembly 2017, here, today.
UMNO veteran Tan Sri Tajol Rosli Ghazali said Najib's call for party members to give their full support to candidates in the upcoming GE14, was well founded.
"If they can do so, UMNO and BN (Barisan Nasional) will not lose. Give chance to young candidates and I'm confident that we will win," said the former Cabinet minister and Perak menteri besar.
UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Najib had given an accurate picture of a bleak future for the Malays especially if the opposition ruled the country.
"The president also wanted us to be ready and united," said the Rural and Regional Development Minister.
Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong, who is also Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, said Najib's speech could be regarded as the last signal for BN to prepare for the GE14.
"Gerakan is 100 per cent ready to go down to the grassroots to get votes," he said.
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the speech assured that the country's future would be brighter under BN.
"MCA and UMNO have been fighting for the country's future for all races. Although we (MCA) is a community-based party, we are not racist. This is our stance.
"BN has its core values, namely mutual respect, cooperation, harmony and the practice of consensus," said the transport minister.
MIC President Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, who is also Health Minister, described the speech by the BN president managed to unite Malaysians from all walks of life.
Meanwhile, MyPPP President Tan Sri M. Kayveas said Najib had made it clear that Malaysians needed to be united and make a wise decision should the people in the country want to live in peace.
