Johor BN To Select Local Candidates Capable Of Serving Constituents In GE14

JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 6 (Bernama) --The Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) will provide local elected representatives whose focus is to serve the community rather than merely becoming candidates to ensure victory for the party.

State BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said this was different from the approach adopted by the opposition which was not bothered about fielding candidates from outside as long as the party achieved victory.

What was even worse was that after winning the election, the elected representatives from the opposition only knew about raising national issues while forgetting his services for the local community.

"This means that right from the beginning, he/she (opposition) is telling the local community that the people (candidates) contesting have no intention of being with the community all the time.

"There is no effort at all to contribute or give ideas on how the challenges faced by the community can be overcome.

"If there are problems faced by the people, the government can resolve (however) if there are problems at the level of the community itself, they should be able to resolve them among themselves. The BN representative (we will chose) are from among the local community who understands the requirements of the residents because every area has different challenges," said Mohamed Khaled who is also the Johor Menteri Besar.

Thus, he hoped the people would vote for the candidates selected by the government as the elected candidates would be the best for them in the coming general election.

Earlier, he officiated the handing over of the 2018 School Bus Fare Subsidy for Pasir Gudang, at Taman Scientex, here.
