UMNO Veterans Have Role To Play To Ensure Party's Survival - Zambry
IPOH, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- UMNO veterans nationwide have an important role to play in ensuring the survival of the party and victory for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the upcoming 14th general election (GE14).
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said as 'old timers' with vast experience in various fields, the contribution of UMNO veterans could definitely bring about major impact to the people.
"UMNO members at all levels have important roles to ensure survival of the party, but the role of the veteran can never be denied," he told reporters after launching the state-level 'Jelajah Veteran Sehati Sejiwa' programme here today.
Meanwhile, Perak UMNO Veteran chairman Datuk Abdul Khalid Mohd Nasir said UMNO veterans in the state were now in full state of preparedness to help the party in facing the challenges of the GE14.
"We (veterans) will not budge an inch and will continue to help UMNO," he said.
The 'Jelajah Veteran Sehati Sejiwa' programme is organised with the cooperation from Veteran Malaysia Sayang Squad Club (S2V), Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association, and Malaysian Ex-Police Association.
