Incumbents Dropped As Candidates Should Help BN Machinery - Shahidan
KANGAR, 14 Jan (Bernama) -- Incumbents dropped as candidates in the 14th General Election (GE14) should not to be disheartened but instead continue to help ensure Barisan Nasional's (BN) victory, said Perlis BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim.
Shahidan, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, said those lobbying for parliamentary and state seats but are not considered should cooperate and assist the party's machinery, so that BN could win in style.
"The list of candidates has already been sent to Barisan Nasional chairman (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak). I have also added some new faces along with the more experienced ones but deciding on candidates is his prerogative," he told reporters after officiating Perlis BN Operations Room here, last night.
Meanwhile, Shahidan said BN was confident of winning back the Sanglang and Indera Kayangan state seats, as well as defending its 13 state seats and three Parliamentary seats in the state.
