GE14: NS UMNO Provides Five Names For Each Seat

SEREMBAN, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan UMNO has submitted five names for each of the seats it will be contesting in the 14th General Election, said its chief Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Mohamad, who is also Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, said this included for his Rantau state seat.
"Although the other four candidates declined, with their permission I still included their names to complete the process to allow the top leadership to make a decision (on who would be the most suitable," he told reporters after chairing the weekly state executive council meeting here today.
He said the same went for the other UMNO divisions in the state whereby they were free to choose their five names for seats that UMNO would be contesting and that he had no say in the matter.
Meantime, he said that more people's housing projects would be built in the state to ensure all strata of society got to own homes.
On another matter, Mohamad said that all circulars relating to Islam to the public must come from the Negeri Semibilan Islamic Religious Department and advised district religious offices to refrain from issuing their own circulars.
