M. Saravanan Ready To Defend Tapah Seat

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- MIC Central Working Committee (CWC) member, Datuk M. Saravanan said today he is ready to defend his parliamentary seat of Tapah in the 14th General Election (GE14).

However Saravanan, who is also Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, said he would leave the decision on the matter to MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He told this to reporters after the launch of the Possible Run programme, to be held on May 13 at Padang Merbok here.

He was confident of continuing to gain the mandate of the people in Tapah, which he held since the GE12.

In the 2013 general election, Saravanan won the seat with 7,927 majority votes in a four-cornered fight involving BN, PKR, BERJASA, and an Independent candidate.
