Don't Fall For Opposition's Empty Promises, Ahmad Bashah Tells Voters
ALOR SETAR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- Voters in the Bukit Selambau and Lunas state constituencies have been reminded not to repeat past mistakes in the 14th general election (GE14) to avoid being cheated by the opposition's false promises.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said they should be aware that the opposition was only good at making empty promises to attract votes while it was the Barisan Nasional (BN) which helped look after the welfare of the voters in the two areas.
"The opposition can only talk and make empty promises. In the event of a disaster like floods where are the elected representatives in Bukit Selambau and Lunas? those present there to help the voters especially the Indian community was BN."
"If that's how the people's representatives there behave, voters need to rethink. They have been repeatedly deceived by them (opposition) before, so don't make the wrong choice and be cheated again for the next five years," he told reporters here Wednesday.
Earlier, Ahmad Bashah had handed over cheques totalling RM900,000 to 59 Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil), 48 temples and 21 non-governmental organisations throughout Kedah .
In the meantime, Ahmad Bashah is confident and positive that BN can win back the two state seats in GE14.
