Boycott GE14, Opposition Supporters' Trick - Rahman Dahlan
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The 'Don't Vote in the GE14' and 'Spoilt Vote' campaign which went viral on social media only involved the opposition voters who are not confident of the opposition leadership, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
He said BN supporters were unlikely to be involved in such a campaign because they still wanted to go out and cast their vote to ensure the BN government remained in power.
"Most of the people who don't want to vote are not BN supporters because BN supporters still want the BN to become the government...they will go and vote.
"Those who will not come are those supporting the opposition but disillusioned with the opposition. We want them (people) to go and vote for the BN," he told reporters after the Economic Discourse event with over 150 practitioners of the Malaysian music and creative industry here today.
Parti Pribumi Bersatu (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in a media conference recently claimed UMNO was the mastermind behind the campaign.
Before it went viral on social media, the anti GE14 campaign was spread via messages with the hashtag #UndiRosak or #SpoiltVote and #ProtesPRU or #ProtestGE.
Meanwhile Abdul Rahman said the government was focusing on the creative industry, which was an important sector with many issues and challenges to look at.
He said all the issues raised during the discourse, including financial, infrastructure and act provisions would be fowarded to the relevant parties such as the Communications and Multimedia Ministry and Cabinet.
