GE14: MACC Open To Receiving Any Political Parties For IBR

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti Commission Commission (MACC) has no qualms to cooperate with any political parties, including the opposition in conducting the Corruption Free Pledge (IBR) in the run-up to the 14th General Election (GE14).

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad said the MACC emphasized that the IBR is made voluntarily similar to submitting the names of candidates for screening for GE14.

"If the MACC is invited by any political parties (for the IBR), we will be present as it shows their commitment to curb corruption," he said at a media conference after the IBR signing and oath-taking by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) staff here today.

Dzulkifli said 927 government departments and agencies nationwide have signed the IBR so far.

However, he was unsure as to why the government of Selangor had yet to sign the IBR to show their commitment to combat corruption.

Also present were FAMA chairman Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin and FAMA director-general Datuk Ahmad Ishak.
