Voters' Safety During GE14 Guaranteed - Selangor Police




SHAH ALAM, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- The Selangor police have given the assurance that the safety of voters will be guaranteed during the 14th General Election (GE14).

Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the police had made preliminary arrangements involving various aspects of security and public order to ensure campaigning period and voting day to be smooth running.

"We have been making detailed preparations for sometime now, in terms of mobilisation of members, traffic control and police patrol in the face of any possibility," he said at a press conference after the handing-over ceremony for the Shah Alam District Police Chief at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters here today.

He said this when asked about the police preparation for the GE14, however, he declined to disclose the number of personnel to be involved.

At the event, Sepang District deputy police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib was appointed as the new Shah Alam district police chief, effective today.

Baharudin succeeded SAC Shafien Mamat who was transferred to Bukit Aman to assume new post as Principal Assistant Director of the Department of Integrity and Standards Compliance (Religion and Counseling).
