PAS GE14 Candidates Finalised - Abdul Hadi
KEPALA BATAS, Feb 4 (Bernama) -- PAS has finalised the list of candidates for the 14th general election (GE14), said its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
He said the list of names received from the states were approved by the Ulama Syura Council three weeks ago.
"There will probably be many new faces and we will also be introducing candidates from the younger generation including women and non-Muslim candidates," he told reporters after a dialogue with Indian non-governmental organisations (NGOs) here today.
He said so far scores of NGOs and three political parties namely Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM), Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) and Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Semalaysia (Berjasa) have joined forces with PAS under the Gagasan Sejahtera alliance.
"PAS will contest in 130 parliamentary seats or more," he said adding the party would field its candidates where Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan would be contesting.
Meanwhile, Penang PAS commissioner Muhammad Fauzi Yusof who was at the dialogue said, Permatang Pasir assemblyman Datuk Mohd Salleh Man was not in the list of candidates.
"The sole PAS representative in Penang is still a PAS member," he said.
