NBOS Fiesta Gives People Better Picture Of Govt's Development Strategies




KLUANG, Feb 11 (Bernama) - The people-friendly National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) Fiesta is believed to give a better opportunity to the people to understand the government's methods and strategies in developing the country.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the initiative by the Ministry of Finance had provided the best of services to the people, and exposed those, especially in rural areas, to the NBOS ideas implemented by the government.

"Personally, I was involved with the implementation of NBOS in 2009. Back then, no one thought it would turn out this big. It (NBOS Fiesta) is being expanded to Sembrong, especially in Paloh, today, " he told reporters after officiating the fiesta at the Paloh Public Field here today.

Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah was also present.

Hishammuddin, who is also Sembrong MP said it was not easy to establish the NBOS, but it was now a stark reality emulated by other countries.

The minister said the NBOS proved that the government had the best interest of the people in mind, despite facing various allegations from certain quarters.

"This means that in circumstances where certain people think they can divide us, even though we have responded to those allegations, we also work and plan for the people, " he said.

According to Hishammuddin, the NBOS also proved that the Government could not develop the country on its own, and that it required teamwork.

"This (organisation of the NBOS Fiesta) is not only for the election season. With the people's mandate, we can do more than this. If people believe in hate politics, fake news, I'm worried that what is being planned, what has been internationally recognised (NBOS), will not come to fruition, " he said.

At the event, Hishammuddin also launched eight new NBOS initiatives with some initiatives involving collaboration between ministries and agencies with the Ministry of Defence and the Malaysian Armed Forces.

The NBOS Fiesta in Sembrong today was the third held in the country, after the ones held in Pekan, Pahang on Sept 23 and Bagan Datuk, Perak on Nov 19, last year.
