Chinese Community Reminded Not To Repeat Past Mistakes - Ahmad Bashah
ALOR SETAR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- The Chinese community has been reminded not to repeat their past mistakes of choosing the wrong leaders in the coming 14th general election to their own detriment.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said picking the incorrect and indifferent leaders caused neglect in some parliamentary and state constituencies.
"Do not repeat the past blunders as we could see what had happened, return to Barisan Nasional (BN) which has been proven to assist the people to develop their areas," he said when speaking at a Feast and Contribution Presentation in conjunction with the 2018 Chinese New Year celebration at Sri Mentalon here today.
About 600 members of the Chinese community from 36 Kedah state constituencies attended the ceremony to receive ang paus and mandarin oranges from Ahmad Bashah.
He said it would be a win-win situation if the people voted for BN because their representatives would benefit the people in various aspects and they would act an a link with the federal government.
In this regard, he advised the community not to be influenced by individuals or groups from the opposition who would turn up only once every five years to make election promises.
