Terengganu To Sack BN Members Involved In Sabotage

KUALA NERUS, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) will sack members of its component parties found to have been involved in 'cah keting' (Kelantanese term for sabotaging) against the coalition's candidates contesting in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14).

Its chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman, who is also state UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, said the cah keting attitude should be eliminated as it was feared that it could affect unity in the party and eventually led to defeat.

"As UMNO deputy president (Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi) had said, BN will not lose if it is not because of BN people who make it lose - the enemy within needs to be wiped out. If that (sabotaging) does not happen, BN will certainly remain in power (in Terengganu).

"(As such,) we will make sure members who are found to have done so in Terengganu will be sacked from the party because we will not compromise with them. If we want to win, we have to ensure that these elements do not exist," he told reporters after visiting the Gong Badak Farmers' Market here today.

Ahmad Razif, who is also Menteri Besar, was commenting on Ahmad Zahid's reminder at the Preparatory Briefing 2.0 heading towards the GE14 at the Tunku Building in Alor Setar yesterday.
