N.Sembilan BN Wants To Gift Teluk Kemang, Seremban Parliamentary Seats To PM
SEREMBAN, Feb 25 (Bernama) --The Negeri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) intends to win and gift the Teluk Kemang and Seremban parliamentary seats to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, in the 14th General Election (GE14).
State BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said to attain this goal, the party machinery had to work harder to ensure victory was achieved.
"In addition, we also want to win the six state seats, which is a thin majority, bringing the total number of state assembly seats to 28.
"We will also defend the five parliamentary seats we won during the last election, to ensure the 2/3 victory is achieved," he told reporters after the launch of Negeri Sembilan Youth's Brigade Gempur 2314 here today.
Also present were BN Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
Mohamad said the people, especially the Chinese and Indians, had begun to realise the seriousness of the prime minister and BN in developing the country.
"A lot of aid has been given by the government to Chinese and Tamil national-type schools, and this has never happened before.
"The policies that the state government introduced such as the Social Security Network Policy and Negeri Sembilan Housing Policy, are solely for the welfare of the people," he said.
In another development, Mohamad said the party was still in the process of finalising the selection of candidates who will contest in GE14.
Meanwhile, Khairy in his speech said Sikamat was chosen to launch the programme as a symbol of BN's target to recapture the Sikamat state assembly seat and the Seremban parliamentary seat which are now under the opposition.
