KUALA NERUS, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- The prosperity and wealth enjoyed by the people in Terengganu currently will only be sustained if the Barisan Nasional (BN) continues to be given the mandate to administer the state after the 14th General Election (GE14).

History has proven that only the BN is eligible to rule Terengganu because it has a strategic development plan, thanks to its past and present leadership helmed by Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.

Compared to the time when the state was administered by PAS from 1999 until 2004, Terengganu had lagged behind due to its stunted economic growth and weak administration by PAS.

Hence, the presence of 40,000 visitors at the opening of the Trengganu Expo 2018 which was launched by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on the grounds of the Gong Badak Sports Complex, Kuala Nerus yesterday should be translated in the form of votes in favour of BN in the coming GE14.

Overall the people of Terengganu, when met by Bernama, at the expo also supported such a programme that indirectly showed the best side of the state since it was ruled by BN.

There are three clusters that are the main pulse of the expo, namely state, portfolios and district, featuring a distinctive edge of their respective products as well as proving that the focused planning and implementation of the Terengganu state government had benefited the people directly and indirectly.

A trader Abdullah Embong, 45, felt that it was one of the best measures undertaken by the state government, especially in showcasing the achievements that had taking over the years.

"Such an expo is actually more interactive, we can put together the success we have along with various side activities that reflect the culture of Terengganu itself.

People are now more interested in going to such expositions, instead of attending talks, as we can move around freely besides making it an annual event, that can be held on a public holiday as a side activity for the community in Terengganu specifically," he said.

Meanwhile entrepreneur Rofie Ali, who sells seedlings like durian, said the two-day expo gave a positive impact to entrepreneurs such as him because he was able to earn a sale of RM3,000.

Such an expo should be held on an ongoing basis because it is one of the best channels for entrepreneurs. In fact it has become a tourist attraction product for the state, he said.

This state government initiative has given a new aspiration to the young people to excel not only in their studies but also in the field of motoring that was highlighted at the expo.

As Ahmad Zahid stated, to ensure the continuity of development and prosperity in the state of Terengganu, the people should continue to give the mandate to the BN government in GE14.
