Sarawak Police Simulation Training For GE14 Starts This Weekend
KUCHING, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak police will hold simulation training sessions to maintain public order this weekend in preparation for the oncoming 14th General Election (GE14).
GE14 committee spokesman for the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) ACP Wan Shamsudin Wan Hussin said during the two-day training session from March 3-4, the public cooperation would be needed and hoped that the public would not panic nor worry about the presence of policemen in their area.
All Sarawak district police chiefs are required to cooperate with the Election Commission to carry out the simulation exercise.
"Each district will choose polling stations and vote counting centres for the simulation exercise of the election day and post GE, " he said in a statement here today, adding that policemen would be mobilised to assigned areas and simulation riots would be held to prepare members of the Public Order Riot Unit and Light Strike Force.
