I'm Prepared To Face Parliamentary Election - Nogeh
BAU, March 1 (Bernama) -- Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Anthony Nogeh Gumbek said he is well prepared to face the coming 14th General Election (GE14).
"If chosen to defend my (parliamentary) seat, I am very much well prepared because I have been visiting and serving my constituency since I got elected in the last general election," said the one-term Mas Gading Member of Parliament to reporters after the meet the people session at Kampung Opar here today.
Earlier Nogeh welcomed a group of Tawanese tourists, comprising 40 indigenous people of Taiwan led by its deputy minister Calivat Gadu (Chinese name Chung Hsing Hua).
Nogeh said the federal issues did not affect Sarawak much, adding that some of the ?funny issues' such as 1MDB, were not relevant to Sarawak, in which only parliamentary seats will be contested in the coming GE14.
"We in Mas Gading constituency, we need more projects and development and since elected as its MP I have brought a lot of projects to my constituency," said the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) secretary-general, who defeated Independent candidate Datuk Dr Tii Lafe in the last parliamentary election.
He said besides infrastructure projects like roads, water gravity project and churches, he has also brought agriculture projects including the MD2 pineapples and Musang King durians.
"My vision for Mas Gading is I want the facilities here to be on par with those in the urban areas and I also want better income for the people," he added.
Earlier in his speech, Nogeh reminded voters to ensure that BN retains Mas Gading in the coming GE14 to make sure the constituency continues to develop.
At the function, he presented financial assistance to 150 single mothers and announced an allocation of RM100,000 for Kampung Opar water gravity project.
