Perak Police To Hold GE14 Drill Tomorrow




IPOH, March 2 (Bernama) -- Perak police have called on the people not to panic with the movements of police personnel throughout the state for two days starting tomorrow as they are conducting drills for the 14th general election (GE14).

Perak police chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan said all Perak contingent headquarters would be cooperating with the Election Commission (EC) to plan and implement simulation on polling day, vote tallying and post general election day.

"Police officers and personnel will be organising movements at selected locations in each district to carry out simulation to strengthen the preparedness of police," he said.

He said the drill was implemented to ensure officers and personnel were in full preparedness for GE14.

"The drill was also to test the effectiveness of police plans and action in facing situation threatening public security and order," he said in a statement here today.

According to Hasnan, the post GE riot simulation would be held in Ipoh city at Jalan Raja Dihilir and Jalan Raja Dr Nazrin on Sunday from 2.45pm to 6pm.
