KL Police Conduct GE14 Simulation

KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur police conducted a two-day simulation exercise from last Saturday to ensure the smooth process of the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its police chief, Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the exercise, held in collaboration with the Election Commission, was carried out by all district police headquarters (IPDs) in the city covering the security at polling centres, traffic to the centres and the safety of the public.

"It is aimed at measuring the response time of the elements that will be mobilised to the locations; enhancing the confidence of the (police) personnel deployed at the nomination, polling and vote counting centres; as well as testing and determining the level of preparedness of the machinery to be used during the period," he said in a statement here today.

Mazlan said the elements included the Light Strike Force (LSF), Public Order and Riot Unit (PORU), Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), Multi-Purpose Vehicle Unit (MPV), Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) and all IPD and state police contingent headquarters' operations rooms.
