Allocation announced for Perlis not 'election candy' - Perlis MB

KANGAR, March 14 (Bernama) -- Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man refuted an allegation that that the allocation announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for Perlis yesterday were 'election candy' for the 14th general election (GE14).
He said the allocation was made following requests from the state government for projects that had already been planned, instead of new projects for GE14,.
During his one day working visit to Perlis yesterday, Najib approved an allocation of RM41.14 million to build the Tasoh water treatment plant, RM50.5 million to address non-revenue water (NRW) and RM10 million each for the Padang Besar Plazaria and the Kangar Bazaria.
The Prime Minister also announced the construction of 1,400 units of the People's Housing Project (PPR); RM30 million allocation to build the Sungai Perlis water gate to control flood and RM30 million allocation to upgrade the Seriab Integrated Public Transport Terminal.
"The opposition does not care about our efforts to convince the federal government to approve the allocation so that the people can enjoy the planned development," said Azlan.
He was speaking to the media after officiating the annual general meeting of the Perlis' Malaysian Council of Former Elected Representatives (Mubarak) here today.
