Johari confident in winning hearts of Titiwangsa voters
KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani is confident that he will be able to win the hearts of voters if chosen to continue to defend the Titiwangsa seat in the 14th General Election (GE14).
"This constituency (Titiwangsa parliamentary constituency) is my birthplace. I was also brought up here.
"After all my contributions to residents of Titiwangsa for the past five years, I am confident that I will continue to remain with this parliamentary constituency," he told reporters after launching the "Pemantapan Hati Wanita 2018: Women Quran Hour" programme here today.
In the event themed 'Read, Understand and Practice', over 500 visitors including students, single mothers and entrepreneurs gathered to do a mass Quran recitation.
When asked about rumours of the selection of another candidate to compete for the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat, Johari, who is also Titiwangsa UMNO Division chief, assured that he had no issues with the matter.
"Anyone can be chosen as parliament representatives. I have no problems with it. However, what is more important is how they will gain the trust of voters in the constituency," he said.
