Civil servants contesting in GE14 need to resign

IPOH, April 3 (Bernama) -- Civil servants who are likely to be nominated as a candidate for any parties in the 14th general election (GE14) should resign from their posts, says Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Zainal Rahim Seman.
He said it was a common procedure under the guidelines set by the department and it was up to the civil servants to evaluate and make a final decision on the matter.
Zainal Rahim said he hoped that the selected civil servants would be working hard to deliver the best service to the people.
He told a press conference after attending the 2050 National Transformation (TN50) discourse here yesterday.
