Give BN strong mandate to continue national transformation agenda - Tee

JOHOR BAHRU, April 5 (Bernama) -- Voters in the state need to give Barisan Nasional (BN) a strong mandate so that the national transformation agenda can be continued, in addition to realising the Johor New Decade mission.

Johor Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committee chairman, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong said that only with close ties between the state and the federal governments, all plans and development agendas could be carried out smoothly.

"The election results will have a direct impact on people´s lives, so Johor voters need to give full support to BN in order to continue with the national transformation agenda, while at the same time realising the Johor New Decade mission," he said in a statement here today.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, during his visit to Muar and Segamat two days ago, announced a number of major development projects including branding Muar as the biggest furniture industry hub in Southeast Asia and the Gemas-Johor Bahru electric double-tracking rail project.

Tee, who is also Johor MCA deputy chairman, said the state government was now focusing on the development of several high-tech industries and exploring artificial intelligence, investing RM1.1 billion for the Johor Bahru-Woodlands Rapid Transit System (RTS) the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project which is expected to be operational by 2026, apart from the Iskandar Malaysia Bus Rapid Transit project, data hub at Sedenak, and oil and gas hub in Pengerang.
