BN government always listens, meet people's demand - Mohamad

SEREMBAN, April 7 (Bernama) --The Barisan Nasional (BN) government is always trying hard to hear and fulfill all the wishes of the people in every aspect of everyday life, Negeri Sembilan BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said.
He said a problem-solving committee at the state level had been up formed to receive, classify and solve the problems that the people complained about.
"We strive to address the issues of the people that are related to their daily lives. I think the people feel comfortable and they understand especially the policies we have made and implement the best way we can.
"I am very confident the people can feel it and the issues related to the everyday lives of the people are our priorities," he said in a special interview with Bernama here.
Mohamad, who is also menteri besar and state UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, also asserted that no favouritism was practised under the BN government, in fact, all areas in the state including the opposition-dominated areas, had been given appropriate attention.
"We have never said that we will carry out work specifically in the areas we win only ... we work for all the people of Negeri Sembilan and all areas.
"We do not choose in our endeavour to prosper the people but I hope people can judge that this is the government, which despite not having made any promises, still give our services," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohamad said Negeri Sembilan BN would work hard to win all the seats it was contesting in the 14th general election (GE14).
He said it had become the norm for BN to win all the seats contested.
"However, there are also seats which we find difficult to win, so the Negeri Sembilan BN concept this time is to retain and to regain. We want to retain what we have, namely the 22 state seats and five parliamentary seats and we want to regain at least five to seven more seats (state and Parliament).
"We have lost the seats with small majorities and we had lost not because the opposition was strong in the areas concerned but due to internal problems. So, if it is possible at the GE14, we make sure that internal problems can be avoided and we can work as a strong team.
"I'm confident we can take back the seats we lost and defend the existing seats (in our possession)... insyaAllah," he told reporters here today. He was met after the launch of the 'Waghih Kito' Market here.
Regarding the list of state BN candidates, he said the list to be announced would comprise candidates who had been investigated and had passed through tight screenings, for BN to make sure, when the candidates were named later, they would not bring trouble to the party.
