PASIR SALAK, April 7 (Bernama) -- UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman today reminded voters to reject opposition leaders who only made promises and appeared in their constituencies only during the election season.
He said the opposition leaders were never serious in championing the fate of the people, despite claiming to do so.
"These opposition leaders, when the general election ends, they'll disappear. You will see their faces again when there is another election. If they truly care for the people, they don't have to win in an election to do so.
"But, the opposition will disappear after losing in the election, and this shows they are not sincere in helping the people," he said.
Tajuddin, who is also Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry minister, said this after a working visit to a project site under the Kampung Gajah Area Farmers' Organisation (MPP) in Kampung Gajah here, today.
He advised the voters to not be influenced by the opposition's sweet promises.
"They have cheated the voters too many times...do not get cheated this time. This is in contrast to Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representatives who have never failed to fulfil their promises."
"BN always strives to serve the people, even in constituencies where we lost," he said.
