500 police, Rela personnel monitor security during launch of BN's Manifesto
KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Bernama) --Nearly 500 police officers and People's Volunteer Corps (Rela) personnel were mobilised to monitor security during the launch of Barisan Nasional (BN)'s manifesto for the 14th General Election at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil tonight.
Cheras district police chief Abdul Ghani Muhamad Ji said all the officers and personnel were mobilised as early as 5 pm until the end of the event.
"The launch of the manifesto event went on peacefully and smoothly with no untoward incident reported," he told Bernama.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who is also BN chairman launched the manifesto which comprises 14 thrusts and more than 300 initiatives to meet the needs of people from all walks of life.
Over 40,000 BN supporters clad in blue attire thronged the Axiata Arena to witness the launch of the manifesto, themed ?With BN for A Greater Malaysia'.
