KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- Puteri UMNO views Barisan Nasional's (BN) manifesto that was launched yesterday by BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for the 14th General Election (GE14) as a realistic and idealistic reflection of Malaysia's development planning for the future.
Its chief, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, in a statement, today said BN's manifesto was not populist in nature, but was flexible and versatile, benefiting all walks of life.
"God willing, BN's manifesto focuses on initiatives needed by single mothers in ensuring that their life and families were protected through incentives and entrepreneurial training that will be provided.
"For women who want to return to the working sector after taking a career break to take care of the family, they will also receive a 24-month tax incentive," she said, in thanking the BN chairman who is also the UMNO president for tabling Puteri UMNO's proposal in the previous UMNO general assembly.
Another Puteri UMNO proposal that was included in the manifesto was the formation of a master committee to discuss coordination related to Syariah legislative and judicial matters in Malaysia.
Commenting on the increase of funds disbursed and a platform for creative industry enthusiasts as the country's new source of revenue, Mas Ermieyati, who is also Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister, said the matter was welcomed by domestic industry players.
Meanwhile, commenting on the construction of a new highway connecting Kuala Linggi to Masjid Tanah, through Klebang until Teluk Mas, she was confident that the residents of the constituency were excitedly awaiting its completion to ensure a smoother journey in the area.
